Julie Chen Moonves will host the popular reality show that has been a summer sensation Big Brother. The show returns to CBS on 5 August for its second season. Chen Moonves has been an integral part of The Talk since 2010, when she was both the host and the moderator. However, her true passion came when she added writer to her duties and won an Emmy for her work. Then she won a second Emmy for hosting an excellent entertainment talk show. The show was hosted by her co-hosts CBS News weekday morning show The Early Show between 2002 until 2010. Her previous roles included anchoring CBS Morning News and The Early Show. Following the 9/11 attacks, she was sent to Cairo and located the main hijacker's father for an intense and eye-opening exclusive interview. Chen Moonves has interviewed newsmakers including former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani and the Queen Rania of Jordan as well as the former Defence Secretary William Cohen, and celebrities like Denzel Washington, Angelina Jolie, Kanye West, Taylor Swift, Viola Davis, Tom Hanks, Mary J. Blige, Bruce Springsteen, Tom Cruise, Ben Affleck, Barbra Streisand, Betty White, Jamie Foxx, Scarlett Johansson, Katie Holmes, Matthew McConaughey, Chris Rock, Mel Brooks, Robert DeNiro, and Jennifer Lopez. Chen Moonves is also a CBS Sunday Morning reporter who has interviewed stars like Jamie Lee Curtis. Before The Early Show she was a reporter with WDTN TV Dayton which was based in Dayton in Dayton, Ohio (1995-1997). Prior to that, she worked as a reporter for ABC NewsOne, the network's affiliate news channel (1992-1995) and as a desk-assistant within ABC News' Los Angeles Bureau (1990-1991), all while finishing her last year of school at The University of Southern California. As a desk assistant, she worked to ABC News' Nightline program with Ted Koppel. Ted Koppel remains as one of her journalist idols. Chen Moonves worked with Koppel on the Columbia du-Pont-winning show on primetime, Anatomy of a Riot that examined the 1992 Los Angeles riots.
